I am not a practicing Buddhist in the strictest sense. My point of view is from my point of view only.
I believed in no attachment. I believe it is attainable. I don't believe that it leads to apathy. I believe that attaining no attachment inspires not apathy but the greatest form of compassion, unconditional compassion. To express unconditional compassion, attachment cannot exist. Only conditional compassion can be expressed with attachment. No attachment inspires unconditional love. You see, with no attachment there is only one thing, this moment. You totally live here now, no attachment to before or after. No seeking, no regrets. Just the endless discovery of the everpresent moment with its endless possibilities and choices.
Loving now, sharing now. Everything you do now is the most important thing. Every person who is with you now is the most important person. Expressing now without any previous limiting definitions. Expressing now without future anticipations. True living.
Attachments take us away from the experience of right now. Attachments, in my humble opinion, are the source of all our suffering.
